Below is a description and contrast between the Hand and wall showers. We have a full selection of both types at affordable prices for you to choose from.
Handhelds are great bringing the water to you and are great for focusing the water where you need. They make washing children and pets easier.
One with a Jet spray is particularly useful in washing away grime from the shower area. However hand held are not hands free and only leave you one hand to or grab soap and lather up. You have to cradle the unit to lather up. They also can be unwieldy if they come with a poor quality hose and can get slippery with soapy hands.
Wall mounts are less flexible, but seat more securely. This could be a good choice for an elderly or disabled person who wishes to stand in the shower, but wants hands free operation without having to make regular fine-tuning adjustments to the Shower Head.
Adjustments to wall mounted units are more likely to stay securely, so if you are picky about the way you want your spray adjusted, a wall-mounted unit is your best choice.
Whether you prefer a unit that is fixed to the wall or one you can hold and direct, you have a choice of multifunction or single function showerheads.
Single function units have one type of spray, usually a fine spray through numerous rubber nozzles. This is a base spray and is meant to cover you as completely and uniformly as the incoming water will allow.
Multifunction units usually have more than one spray type. You can switch between different sprays by means of a ring that rotates around the circumference of the shower head. Newer units have dial knobs or levers, but the spray types are typically the same and combinations of them.
At Iconic we do not label combo sprays as unique functions and only label our products per the actual individual different sprays. Beware manufacturers who label combos as individual functions to increase the number of actual functions a showerhead has
